We are pleased to introduce to you CIP Catalyst, the newly revamped pre-seed fund from Cradle Investment Programme (CIP), a fund managed by Cradle Fund Sdn Bhd, under the auspices of the Ministry of Finance (MOF).

As a pre-seed funding programme, CIP Catalyst will be a platform of not only disbursing grants with efficiency, but also responsible in developing, nurturing and guiding entrepreneurs and aspiring entrepreneurs to successfully transform raw technology-related ideas into commercially viable ventures. Groups of innovative individuals with technology-oriented ideas can now apply for CIP Catalyst and receive conditional grants of up to a maximum of three (3) conditional tranches of up to RM50,000 per tranche for their ideas.

From just funding the development of prototype, proofs of concept and/or business plans, CIP Catalyst has moved a few steps further by expanding the ambit of the funding areas to include purchase of market feasibility research, IP (Intellectual Property) search and registration, surveys on concrete statistical data and product sampling expenses.

CIP offers more than just the grant money. It offers extensive value added services and exclusive assistance to the recipients, like providing further funding and market access support via its Ideas Bank mechanism, mentoring expertise, coaching, networking opportunities and product and idea refinement. CIP aims to create an ecosystem that would support a strong and innovative business-building environment and commercialisation efficiency for budding technology entrepreneurs as well as to live up to the Cradle Credo, which is CReating  And Developing Leading Entrepreneurs (CRADLE).

Till to-date, CIP has successfully commercialized about 42% of the completed ideas which it has funded, which is the highest thus far throughout the nation. This volume speaks our commitments towards assisting and aspiring entrepreneurs in realising their full potential.
